I was born in a coastal town near the Mediterranean Sea on New Year's Eve. As an adventurous child, I grew up and studied travel management and tour guiding. On one of my trips to the United States, I purchased a camera and fell in love with how a photograph can convey emotions and beauty. I never put my camera down after seeing the magic I could create. After graduating college, I decided to majorly change my life and moved to New York City. I lived in NYC for three inspiring years until one day, I was swept off my feet and carried to New Hampshire by a handsome guy who truly loved, supported, and believed in me, Eddie, my husband.

While in NH, I continued refining my craft and building Esra Y Photography into my dream business. Photography gave me the freedom to create blissful art and grow my family. It helped me find my niche in this world, and I couldn't think of a more meaningful and rewarding way to spend my time and talent than to preserve such an important day for many beautiful couples.

I am extremely fortunate to have a wonderful husband, Eddie, and two amazing children, Calvin and Xavier, who mean the world to me. They are my support system and the driving force behind my success.

Eddie has been my rock through thick and thin. He has always been there to encourage me and offer his unwavering support, no matter what. Without his support, Esra Y Photography wouldn't be where it is today.

Calvin and Xavier are my inspiration. They bring so much joy and light into my life every day. Seeing them grow and thrive fills me with immense pride and happiness. They remind me of the importance of staying positive and pursuing my dreams.

I am grateful for my family every day. They are truly the most important people in my life, and I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without their love and support.

My Family

Traveling and meeting new people has been an essential part of both my personal life and my photography business. It has allowed me to expand my horizons and capture unique perspectives through my lens.

As a photographer, I am always in search of new and exciting locations to shoot. Traveling to different parts of the world has given me the opportunity to capture stunning landscapes, architecture, and people from diverse cultures. Meeting new people along the way has also allowed me to learn and appreciate different perspectives, which has helped me to improve my craft.

Growing up on the Mediterranean Sea, I was fortunate enough to experience the beauty and power of the ocean firsthand, and it left an indelible mark on me. Regardless of where I have lived throughout my life, I have been lucky enough to live so close to a sea or ocean without even choosing based on that. The ocean is a constant reminder of the vastness of the world and the endless possibilities it holds, and I am grateful for every moment I get to spend near its shores.

my Philosophy

My approach to wedding photography is all about you and your story. I like building close relationships with my couples so when the wedding day comes, we will have the best wedding photography experience and make your photo dreams come true with creating the photos that reflects the real you.

On your wedding day, sometimes I will be invisible to capture genuine candid moments such as when you are enjoying cocktail hour with your guests and sometimes I will be right there to show you how can we create a perfect portrait. I won't pose you in ways that you feel uncomfortable and fake but I will guide and instruct you how to look beautiful and natural in your photos. When we are doing this, we will also make sure to have a lot of fun, because this is the DAY you both waited and thoughtfully planned and my job is to be positive influence on your wedding day with the great Esra Y Photography experience. Years and decades later when you look at these photos, I want you to remember memories but also how you felt in that moment.

MeeT MY TEAMMATE

Kate and I first met while teaming up to shoot a wedding at the Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont back in 2021. It only took that one day of working together and we knew we had found our perfect photography team!

She first discovered her affection for photography while attending the White Mountain School, in the beautiful village of Bethlehem, NH. With the help of a talented photography teacher, she was able to understand the importance of not only the technical part of taking a photo but also being aware of the feeling a photo creates once captured.

After high school she put her passion for photography on the back burner of life, as she focused on her other love, working with children. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, she taught early childhood education for ten years in the public school systems spreading her time between New Hampshire, Wyoming, and Vermont classrooms, all while starting up her own small photography business as a part-time passion project.

For the past six years Kate took a break from the classroom and began shooting weddings full-time, either as a lead under her own brand, or as a second shooter under Esra Y Photography. This year marks the beginning of her newest adventure as she fully joins the Esra Y Photography team as the Associate Lead Photographer and reenters the classroom as a teacher once again.

With the unwavering support of her husband Erik—her partner for ten wonderful years—and their two adorable daughters, Kate has been able to pursue her dreams of photography and teaching wholeheartedly.

When she's not capturing beautiful moments at weddings, you can find her exploring vibrant new cities, hitting the slopes for some skiing, or enjoying the great outdoors while hiking with her family. Each adventure fuels her creativity and deepens her appreciation for life's little treasures.

Kate's love for travel, which ignited at a young age, shows no signs of waning. Her happy place is always in the midst of new places and people. While she may prefer the mountains as a permanent residence, her heart truly sings when she's exploring cities, islands, and everything in-between.

Her newest inspiration for traveling is fueled by sharing the experience with her husband and daughters. They are not just tourists, but learners, hoping to create life long lovers of learning from the world around them.

The ability to combine photography with the outdoors is a great advantage for her. Whether she's capturing moments at an outdoor garden wedding, on the side of a mountain, or on an island, the inspiration she finds is endless.
