Coastal Maine Wedding at French’s Point, Mallory & Matthew

Maine is one of the beautiful states for a coastal summer wedding. French’s Point is a private estate in Stockton Springs, Maine that provides a perfect venue to have a coastal oceanfront wedding. Mallory and Matthew celebrated their big day in this private estate with a oceanfront ceremony.
DIY weddings always requires so much time, planning and extra work. Mallory and Matthew definitely nailed their wedding with a lot of DIY touches. From tables to decorations, linens to photo booth, centerpieces to flowers… They thought about it, planned it and did it. They made their dream wedding happen with their own touches.
My favorite moment from their wedding was when they read their love letters to each other. Mallory and Matthew choose the traditional way and they didn’t want to see each other until ceremony but they had love letters to each other that they wanted to read before the ceremony. We found a door and they stood behind the door without seeing each other but feeling it, without looking into eyes but holding hands tightly they read their love letters to each other. It was definitely the most emotional part of the day. Then the rest of the day was filled with joy, fun, celebration, dance and happiness.

From the bride:
Do you believe in love at first sight? We do…Well, maybe it was lust at first sight but either way, it got the job done…
On May 4, 2012 we met while working at the Finback Alehouse in Bar Harbor, ME. It was opening day, we had just been introduced and the second our eyes met, the sparks started flying. Although I was supposed to be serving tables, Matt insisted I work behind the bar…right next to him…all night. I was supposed to leave at ten, ended up staying till 2 and even though I had a ride, Matt offered to drive me home and I was more than happy to accept his offer. Fast forward one week and Matt was single. A week after that he tracked down my phone number and asked me out on a date. A week after that we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Nine days after that we professed our love for each other. Four months after dating we moved to Portland together. Three years of living together and Matt FINALLY popped the question!! Our love has been a whirlwind of emotion and adventure. We knew from the moment we laid eyes on each other that this would be something special…You know how they say “When you know, you know?”…They were right!
